Well the week-end finally decided to show up at my house! It is early in the morning and I am the only one up. Kristi and Alayna moved back to their apartment last night and it was very quiet here when I finally got home about 8:30. After work, I took Kristi and Alayna to the grocery store and Sam's so they would not starve to death at their home.
Kristi went to the ortho doctor on Wednesday and he switched braces. He gave her an ROM (Range of Motion) brace set at 30 degrees right now. Every three day she can move it 10 degrees to allow for a little more movement. She is still in pain, but not as much as she was in at first. The swelling makes a nasty comeback at the end of the day, but she comes home and puts it up and puts ice on it with a nice pain pill and it gets all better!!! She only uses the walker now if the knee it really unstable or she doesn't have her brace on (like scooting to the bathroom). Otherwise, the wheely walker is lonely. The knee is really unstable without the brace. The doctor said this was one of those things that you read about in text books but don't ever expect to see. Leave it to Kristi to give him hands-on experience with something.
Today, we are going to cut wood. Tom's dad and Brian are coming over - both with chain saws to cut wood. We have had a lot of trees fall down in the winds that we have had recently and have not had the time or energy to get out there and cut them up. Not to mention, we need the firewood!!
Well, I better get to my report for work. I have to get this done this week-end.
